4.10 STORAGE
1. Store the unit in an area away from human
activity.
2. Do not permit children to play on or around
the stored machine.
3. Store the unit in a dry, level area. Support
the frame with planks if required.
STORAGE SAFETY
After the season's use, the machine should be
thoroughly inspected and prepared for storage.
Repair or replace any worn or damaged compo-
nents to prevent any unnecessary down time at
the start of next season. To insure a long, trouble
free life, this procedure should be followed when
preparing the unit for storage:
1. Clear the area of bystanders, especially
small children.
2. Remove all residual material from the pick-
up and auger tubes.
3. Thoroughly wash the entire machine using
a pressure washer to remove all dirt, mud,
debris or residue.
4. Inspect all moving or rotating parts to see
if anything has become entangled in them.
Remove the entangled material.
5. Lubricate all grease fttings to remove any
moisture in the bearings.
6. Run the machine slowly for 1 minute to
distribute lubricant to all surfaces.
7. Fully fold the frame.
8. Install the discharge auger support brackets
and pick-up assembly anchor brackets to
the frame.
9. Touch up all paint nicks and scratches to
prevent rusting.
10. Select an area that is dry, level and free of
debris.
11. Store machine inside if possible. Cover with
a waterproof tarpaulin if stored outside.

12. Do not allow children to play on or around the

13. Unhook from tractor or truck (See sections 4.8.1
or 4.8.2 respectively).
